- "House Without Toxins" by Steve Raabe - "For
over three years, commodity broker Larry Hicks has watched his
wife's health deteriorate. Plagued by chronic fatigue,
stress, repeated sinus infections and susceptible to viruses,
Pam Hicks has been unable to cure herself with conventional
medical treatment. 'They (the doctors) could never find
a cure and we never could get her well, ' said Larry Hicks.
'We think it has to do with our environment and the way it's
abusing our immune systems.' (See

- Lifestyles Section, Dec. l5, l999 - "No Place Like Home"
by Matthew Vuletich - "The average house, Alex Delgado
said, offers exposure to dozens of potentially harmful toxins,
including molds, perfumes, pesticides, air fresheners, paint
supplies, household chemicals, dry-cleaned goods, personal care
products, certain types of woods, and products used to treat
drapes, carpets and upholstery, to name just a few. MCS
can cripple anyone anytime because everyone is exposed to potential
toxins, Delgado said. Determinants in who gets sick, and
when, depend on individual immunological and biochemical factors
and the presence of "stressors" in a person's life."
