The American
Medical Association and the U. S. Army reached similar conclusions
- that indoor air quality problems cost as many as 150 million
workdays and 15 billion sick leave days annually in the United
States.
According to Stephen
Edelson, M.D. (1998) in "Living with Environmental Illness"
he states, "Multiple chemical sensitivity is an environmental
illness in which the environment itself makes people sick. It
is an adverse reaction to toxic chemicals in our air, water,
food, drugs, and surroundings even when they are at levels below
those that are officially considered to be harmful to the general
public.
